HQ Hosts Site Visit for Orangeburg County High School Students

The home building industry has seen many ups and downs over the past decade, most recently within the last few post-pandemic years. However, one thing remains constant through the peaks and valleys: people need homes. As an industry leader in the residential new home construction niche, Hunter Quinn Homes prioritizes contributing to causes and efforts that keep the industry moving forward.

In Hunter Quinn's most recent contribution to this push for industry longevity, team HQ provided hands-on training to future leaders in this essential industry. By hosting a group of highly motivated students of Orangeburg county school district, we were honored to play a part in meeting the hands-on requirements needed for their NCCER certification program.

The NCCER build construction certification program gives 10th - 12th-grade high school students an opportunity to get ahead in the trade and construction industry spaces. NCCER ( National Center for Construction Education & Research) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 education foundation & exists to build a safe, productive and sustainable workforce of craft professionals by providing universally recognized training, assessment, certification and career development for construction and maintenance craft professionals.

Team members of the HQ HomeSights division of Hunter Quinn hosted the site visit at a newly finished Berkeley home plan in Orangeburg, South Carolina, where students received a thorough understanding of how a real-life construction business operates and engaged in some hands-on activities designed to get them prepared for what's to come in their real-world experience. The students demonstrated their abilities and passion by showcasing their capabilities as future construction industry leaders.

Our industry is only as good as our future leaders, and we are so proud of the accomplishments that the students in the NCCER program have obtained so far. Watching these students excel with the knowledge obtained through the program confirms that the construction industry will be in great hands. The future of this industry is indeed bright!

“The project manager told me many things that I never in my life would have thought about, about how the homes are built, and I definitely appreciated the information. I close next week and I am beyond excited!”
