When you buy a resale home, you always have that worry that something is lurking inside the structure. The plumbing might be ready to burst, the roof could need replacement in the not-too-distant future, or maybe the inspection missed something in the foundation. With a new construction home, you don’t have those concerns. Your home is covered by a builder’s warranty. But not all warranties are equal. Before you purchase a new home, understand what’s covered. Here’s information on Hunter Quinn’s 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty® (2-10 HBW)—and why it matters to you (or should). 

Every single-family home and townhome we build includes this new home warranty. Your protection covers 1-, 2-, and 10-year protection for specified features.

For one year, you’re covered against defects in workmanship and materials for siding, windows, doors, roof covering, beams, cabinetry, and finishes.

For two years, your new home warranty covers defects in electrical systems, ductwork, heating and cooling, and plumbing.

For ten years, your home is covered for structural defects in the roof and floor framing, foundation, load-bearing walls, beams, and columns.

In order to offer this industry-leading protection, Hunter Quinn Homes must complete a comprehensive screening process. Our building practices are carefully evaluated, to ensure that our homes are worthy of this coverage.

When you take ownership of your new Hunter Quinn home, it’s not just our warranty that protects you. We schedule a walk-through with your construction supervisor 30 days after you move in. This gives you time to get to know your home and find issues or questions to present to this professional. All warranty items are handled quickly.

To make sure anything related to your 1-year coverage isn’t missed, we’ll schedule another inspection at 11 months from the closing date. We’ll carefully review all items that are no longer covered when the year is up. We’re proactive to be protective!

This coverage adds another selling point to your home at resale time. The warranty we offer is fully transferable. If you sell your home before the 2-10 HBW expires, the new owners gain the remainder of your protection.
