Known as “Flowertown in the Pines”, Summerville is an official Tree City USA community, a program that promotes responsible forestry. The city’s commitment to maintaining its natural beauty is evident in the Azalea Park & Sculpture Garden. This 16-acre park is both child- and dog-friendly. You can wander through the trails lined with fragrant flowers (in spring and summer), sit by one of the butterfly or turtle ponds, browse the unique sculptures, and picnic in a gazebo with a scenic view. 

One of the largest arts and festivals festivals in the southeast, the Flowertown Festival, brings thousands of visitors to Summerville annually, the first week of April.
